On September 11, 2001, Jason Dahl gave the last full measure as the pilot of United flight 93, which went down in Shanksville, PA despite his heroic efforts and those of his crew and and some of his passengers. It was two days before his 5th wedding anniversary. After ten years as the unofficial but dedicated champion of the fallen, Dahl's beloved bride followed him to their great reward on May 25, 2012. Some say she died of of a broken heart. The Dahls resided just up the hill from this site.

I'm glad I came back. I spotted it right away this time. Probably placed differently now than it was before.

Thx It was hard to find and it really made me look at the memorial and realize how important it is not just to find the geocache but to get outside and have fun.

A cacher friend and I found this one after lunch today. This was actually my second attempt here (with at least 3 years between attempts) and it took a few minutes to spot. I replaced the wet log with a fresh one. Smile
