Welcome to Covalent vs. Ionic.

All you have to do to solve this puzzle is to understand the difference between these astoundingly pervasive chemical bonds. Life is truly the molecules reacting inside and around us.  In chemistry.. all the ACTION in a chemical reaction is in the sharing or transfering of electrons.  Ionic Bonds involve the transfer of electrons, while Covalent bonds involve the sharing of electrons. The lighter elements bond with one another so that each individual atom can reach a stable valence shell with 8 electrons. Nearly every medicine, food, and creature around us are made-up of a wide variety of molecules held together by these types of bonds.

Covalent = 1

Ionic = 2

Z = G

Y = B + A + E + G + D

X = (B + G) – C

W = E

V = C – H

U = C + D + H

T = A + H

S = 3 X (B + D)

I had quite a tough time with this one. The formatting made me think each line was one compound instead of being two separate columns. Fortunately, EstesLynne helped me out. Then I had to google how to tell what kind of bond was between the elements (metal plus non-metal, two non-metals, etc.). After all that, I finally got the coords and picked it up this morning. Thanks for the chemistry refresher!

Down in Loveland with Bug Ranger, picking up a bunch of MrPolleyClass caches before highway 34 closes for reconstruction. Have had this one solved for a bit and happy to find the final. TFTC!
