This geocache is NOT at the listed coordinates.   You are looking for a small, round camouflaged container.

I know I live around rattlesnakes and I try to watch closely for them.  Nonetheless, three years ago I was bitten by one in my yard.  Every year we see them but this past summer we came across 13 of them in less than a month just in our daily comings and goings.  I am by no means a rattlesnake expert but have learned quite a bit about their behavior in the wild.  I would like to use this geocache to educate and dispel myths about the prairie rattlesnake that is fairly abundant on the Front Range of Colorado.  By the way, when this cache was first placed, the nearby snake skin just happened to be there.  I did not put it there!  Seemed like the perfect location for the cache though.  If you are looking for this cache during the warmer months, be careful!  This is prime rattlesnake territory.  To get the coordinates for this cache, please answer the True/False questions below then use the number following your chosen answer to find the coordinates:

N 40 AB.CDE  W 105 FG.HIJ

A.  Snakes will not be out when it is cold (let’s define cold as 60 degrees F).

True (3 )    False (2)

B.  If bitten, you should keep the bite lower than your heart, remain calm and have someone take you to get medical help.  You should not use a tourniquet to keep the venom from spreading.  You should not apply ice to the area no matter how much it hurts!

True (4)     False (5)

C.  If bitten, you should make a cut over the bite and suck out the venom.

True (3)     False (4)

D.  Rattlesnakes can only strike if they are coiled.

True (5)     False (3)

E.  Rattlesnakes don’t always inject venom when they bite.  One-third of all bites to humans are “dry bites” (no venom).  Only about 12 in 8000 bites per year result in death.

True (9)     False (1)

F.  Rattlesnakes are very aggressive and will likely bite you if you are near them.

True (1)      False (0)

G.  Although rattlesnakes are deaf they will move to avoid you because they can feel the vibration as you approach.

True (7)      False (8)

H.  If you have a bullsnake in your yard, then you won’t have a rattlesnake.

True (9)      False (8)

I.  Rattlesnakes will always rattle if they see you.

True (2)      False (3)

J.  You cannot tell the age of a rattlesnake by counting its rattles.

True (4)      False (2)
