The last day of December this year, 2023, has a fun aspect to it.  

It is 12-31-23 or 123123!

Since gampa is a math teacher, we thought we would hide a cache 

to celebrate this rare day.

To find where this cache is located,

you will first need to solve the simple math puzzle in the photo gallery.  

 

Enter the correct answer (one lowercase word and one uppercase letter with no spaces) 

into the certitude checker and you will be rewarded with the coordinates.  

Please use stealth when retrieving the container, 

replacing it exactly as found, so that others can enjoy their find as well.

I wanted to come get this one on 12/31/23 but was celebrating my dad’s birthday. He was born on 12/31/38. I guess my grandparents got a nice tax deduction!

I was too busy with my daily Wordle, daily Nerdle, and daily Squaredle to get to GZ in time for FTF, but it was a fun puzzle and good hide. TFTC!

I found it with LilRyRy and CDRSheppo this morning before heading to a couple of events. I saw it had published when I woke up and quickly solved the puzzle in my head. However, I got really confused when I didn’t submit my answer in the correct format. I worked it out on paper, confirmed my answer, and finally got the coordinates. I checked a few places near GZ before I discovered the cache. I love everything about this puzzle and was excited to explain all the details to the kids, who are more interested in playing Minecraft in the backseat. But they humored me and smiled and said “That’s cool Mom.” Thanks for the mystery!

Happy New Year! I was just so happening to be checking email when the cache was published. As I’m of the age that I print the Internet, I printed two copies of the puzzle and Lady Fun and I went straight to work. Good thing I kept my scientific calculator from chemistry class all those years ago! After solving the puzzle and getting rewarded with the final coordinates, I set off on a short drive for the find. The final coordinates could not have been more accurate! I made the find, signed the log, and returned home to my Lady. Thanks!
