Dogs  Tree Climbing

This is a tribute cache for our geopup. We got Gizmo in October 2011 when he was 13 weeks old. We trained him as a service dog to help locate my daughter if she wandered off and we haven't had an incident in 5 years thanks to him. Unfortunately, the past couple years have seen a lot of changes for him. Changing homes, kids moving out and now I work outside the home. If we can't figure things out soon he may have to go to a new family, find someone who would be home all day with him. He loves to climb, and probably climbs things most dogs wouldn't. Even trees! He picked this tree to climb today with me. Very good choice I'd say. It's just a doggone fun climb!

Congrats to LostinDenver for ftf!

We DNFd this one more than a year ago (it was missing). Saw it had been replaced so made a quick detour on the way to Costco. Walked round and round until at last we spotted it. George made the climb and we happily signed the log. Great to change our frown into a smiley.

Temporarily Disable Listing 05/21/2019 By Heartland Cacher
Greetings I'm Heartland Cacher, one of the volunteer reviewers for caches submitted to Geocaching.com.

This cache was brought to my attention by one or more of your fellow cachers that think this cache is missing and/or in need of maintenance. I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and I am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner the opportunity to check on the cache, and repair it, if necessary. Cache maintenance includes listing maintenance including updating any changes to the text, updating coordinates, removing needs maintenance attributes and enabling the listing. If the owner feels they will not be able to repair this in a timely manner, let me know, and I'll archive it. This will keep the cache from continually showing up in search lists. It can be enabled once you have made repairs. Please use the “Write Note” feature to leave notes on the cache page. Please do not use the "OWNER MAINTENANCE" log until you do the maintenance and the cache is ready to be found again.

When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to enable your cache, it will be no problem. You can re-enable the cache page http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 by clicking the link under the cache name or by checking the box that says the cache is active. If a "Needs Maintenance" log was posted, you will also need to log an "Owner Maintenance" log to clear the "Needs Maintenance" icon from the geocache page. http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404

I look forward to hearing from you. Do not reply to this email. It is sent by a no-reply mailbot so I won't get it. To respond, please do NOT send me an e-mail or a message center conversation as they lack needed functionality for reviewing. Leave a new "Reviewer Note" log here on your cache page. If you're not familiar with this process, see the instructions https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=97&pgid=74. I have your cache on my watchlist, and I will receive a notification when you write your note.

"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance *it will not be unarchived."*

Additionally, please note that if I've not heard from you in 4 weeks, I may be forced to archive this cache. Don't let your cache get archived for non-communication

Thanks for your understanding,
Heartland Cacher

Geez we are not having a good day. Five attempted caches - 3 DNFs. This was our last of the day. Made our way to GZ, searching for the cache before hubby made the climb. Looked and looked, but just couldn't spot it. Read the logs and saw last finder had hid it for the cache owner to replace it. We searched nearby area but could not locate the hidden cache.

Decided to try this one while my dogs were being groomed in Franktown. Can't decided if it was my lucky or unlucky day! Made it up where I thought the container might be and couldn't find anything. Finally got frustrated and started to climb down when something on the ground caught my eye. It was the container! Signed log, but didn't know exactly where to replace the container, so I found a spot and put some camo over it. Will email the cache owner with the location. Thanks for the cache!

I DID IT!!!!!! Being fat and 50 (ok 54) with vertigo, I never thought it would be possible, but I did it!!!! Special shout out to my muggle hubby who gave me a boost up and constantly streamed encouragement until I was safely on the ground. I really needed this d/t combination so I am even more thrilled to get the find. Dropping a fav point.

What fun!!! I do not understand how Gizmo got up that tree; I had trouble pulling myself up to that first level. Beautiful tree that was fun to climb and figure out how to navigate. I saw a beautiful young buck on my way to the cache; he kept munching grass as I walked by. Thanks for the fun experience; I love climbing trees!! TFTC.

I wanted to go for a short ride this am since the weather was so nice. This open space is the closest to my place so I looked to see if there happened to be any new caches & darned if there wasn't! It has been many years since I've come up the gully but it was always a nice ride so I headed this way. The 1st step up was the biggest. I wish my horse was a bit better about me stepping up off his back but that would have taken a 2nd person to hold him in place. He's not quite the climber you dog is.
