Takes more than an hour  Scenic view  Significant hike  May require wading  Cliff / falling rocks  Dangerous area  Not Wheelchair accessible  Stealth required  Flashlight required  No Park and Grab

It was the center of power. The center of society. The cause of a war that tore apart countries and ravaged landscapes.

It will be found again...

The tattered remains of this country must come together to rule again. This task can only be accomplished by use of the energy contained within The Prism. The first search party, Search Force X1, was sent decades after the last Great War to recover the object. Messages were cut off amidst the winter season, and no contact efforts have been made by the party since. We now send Search Force X2 to the area with the same mission. Please read the first message received from Search Force X2, found in the attached image below.

This is the last message received from Search Force X1, which may contain important information regarding X1's camp location:

Wow! Thanks so much for all the fun with this amazing Puzzle/Multi cache!!

I started this one last year. I worked through the stages fairly quickly. Each was a very unique hide location and amazingly well done. Kudos for all of the stages so amazingly well done and thought out.

I was finally at the last stage but had a few issues that the CO was quick to sort out for us. Unfortunately I ran out of time.

Today was the day! I was so excited but way underestimated this little journey!

I set off just after noon. It was hot, but bearable. I was within a half mile of the cache in no time. Up up and up I went and finally arrived at the GZ. First pictures, then explore just a bit, then get the cache. The first two were quick and easy, finding the cache proved to be VERY hard! After about an hour I sent out several pleas for help. I received a couple hints but never was able to zero in on their descriptions.

Now true to most RPieperCO hikes, here comes the rain, lightning, and thunder. I booked it down the hill to a small cave I had found. This cave was covered in bat guano and proved to be a pretty decent shelter. I waited out the storm which seemed to last nearly two hours. Back up I went (5th 6th time, who knows...)

Somehow or another I stumbled upon something one of our PAFs had described and I yelled out for joy. With all the rain and flowing mud/water this was an incredibly dangerous approach to the final GZ. Once where I needed to be I needed a couple TOTTs to see my way. Seconds later I had the cache in hand.

BIGGEST ammo can I've ever seen!!!

I signed and stamped a surprisingly sparse logbook. Amazing how few finds this one receives. I can't recommend this one enough!

Replaced as found and I started the very arduous task of extraction on these slippery surfaces. I destroyed my shirt on the way out. (caught on a rock) Now to get out of here.

I headed down a different way than I came up and as usual this proved to be far easier. 6.59 total miles, 7 hours. New record for a single cache!!!

What an amazing hike!

Favorite for sure. Thanks Tom.dog!

This was a hike to beat all hikes! We made it up to gz within an hour or so. Then the trouble started. Down and around and back up with no luck. Sent a couple pafs and really we ended up on a goose chase trying to follow the help. As we headed back up a major storm came up and we had to take shelter in a bat cave for a while. Finally it calmed down and we headed back up and there was the most beautiful site, the gz! The GPS track and the circles are funny to see, but oh so tired now. Sl, thanks!

Don'tcha just hate it when you fat-finger something assuming you know enough to be right? I found stages 1 and 2 with little trouble today, but when I went to search for the third stage, my GPSr was telling me to go into private property. I refused, scolded the little booger, and went home (ugh - about 20 miles north) to plot things out on my computer. It wasn't until then I realized I was using the fractional minutes from stage 2 to try to find stage 3, and that just isn't acceptable. I'll be back, having set myself straight, and I'm looking forward to it!

Back to the final again with my dad and Roswell the dog visiting from Texas. I was very glad we found the small use trail up that Matt and I found coming down from. Even then, my dad decided to make it harder then necessary- he cut across the valley too early and we ended up climbing around and above the prism. So I think he was pretty tired when we got there. Great views today- last time all we saw was fog. We took my route back down. A really cool location. I think we saw it from where the trail splits off the reservoir but my dad said it was too close (I still think I'm right). TFTC
