This cache is in honor of my grandpa who went by Bud.  He was a firefighter at the nearby fire station, and later fire chief at Lowry AFB.  When the neighborhood was first built in the 50s the fire department here was volunteer, and he made his living as a carpenter and helped build a lot of the surrounding houses.  He was a bit of a jokester, so I think he would appreciate this cache- my mom recently told me a story of him qnd his buddies adding a strategic "f" to a college's "medical arts building" sign (guess where).  He also was a WWII vet, having served in the South Pacific- generally just probably cooler than you and I.  Here's to you, Papa!

Please remember to replace the camouflage.

 

Near the fire station there is a little free food pantry set up by the Rotary Club- I try to bring non-perishable items,to add, though I often forget.

Our mission for today was to cache our way to the final Colorado Event Blitz: South Metro in Parker. First stop along the way. We teamed up with Ivy Dog Parents and Joe Friday to grab a few caches along the way. Dropped off a path tag. Very nice hide, TN, SL, TFTC

FTF Party with Edwards654 this morning at 10:52! Thank you for this fun new cache carriemeback. Gets a favorite point for the cool container. Love the story of the cache. We did a bit of CITO in the area after signing the log. Modified log to get miles for the trackables.
