A journey in to The Crags, featuring beautiful scenery, grand views, and a 5 mile round trip hike.
Grab your Geocaching bags!
There’s treasure waiting at the Crags!

This cache consists of just two parts.
Find the small one as a start.
It contains the vital clues
That lead you on to number two.

The first is just an impish box
That likes to hide in a pile of rocks.
About the size of a grown man’s fist,
This box is small! You get the gist.

Once you’ve found the small one first
It gives coordinates and verse
To take you to the second cache
And that one houses all the stash!

One sure way that you won’t fail
Is if you stay upon the trail.
This 5-mile hike’s a favorite route
And it can be a good work out.

But kids and dogs can do well too
If they commit to hike with you.
No need to get close to the edge
There's nothing hidden on a ledge.

The Crags are just south of Divide
Take 67 for a ride.
Turn east at the sign “Crags C.G.” if you’re able,
It's by a fence and a big horse stable.
(N 38 52.798 W 105 09.414)

You’re on dirt road but the road’s alright
At the Mennonite camp you’ll turn to the right
Another mile and a half you’ll see the Crags camp ground
Turn left through that and then parking can be found.
(Park around N 38 52.278 W 105 07.203 at the Crags trailhead, after driving through the campground, no fee).

Please enjoy the hunt my friends,
And now Team Crikey’s poem ends.

 Hints

The impish box is on the underside
Of a hollowed log looking like a slide.
Oh, he thinks himself a clever box
For hiding in a pile of rocks.

TFTC I joined AllenMabry for a bit of caching in the Crags area. It is a sunny cool day after an early morning rain.

The first stage was in good shape with plenty of information still available. We went to the top for lunch with a fantastic view and found the final on our way down the trail. This really capped off my first real Day exploring the Crags. The Final was also in fine condition. This all deserves a Favorite point for sure.

WP one had me going in a couple of directions. The hint threw me off as there is something very much what is described, but nothing there. I finally trusted my GPS and looked deeper and there it was! I must have steeped right over it the 1st time. The final was much easier, but so glad to get a multi smilie at the Crags (the others are VERY difficult).
A fav for a cache that I could almost ride to (WP one was a bit too rocky for my horse).

Had a great hike in the Crags area today - this is one of several I found, although it was the last one due to the placement of the final. Thanks for the hide!

12:10:00 PM We are visiting from Dallas and caching today on the trail to The Crags. We are working our way up to more challenging and higher altitude hikes. We heard a group at the top of the trail saying that The .Crags has the best view for the least effort. The weather was great, too.

Well, this one gave me a bit of a workout. Lots of the hiding places look alike up there! I did manage to find the clue holder, get the info for the next stage and then go find the final. Woohoo! This is my first multicache of August and earns me that souvenir. I signed the log. Thanks for the cache.

I wanted to get in a short hike this morning so I gave this one a try again.

There was hail all over the trail and the last meadow was frosty white.

This time I found what I needed to finish up this one.

The final has not been found for a month and half short of three years.

Thanks for keeping this fun cache going!

Knew that there would be more up the trail

Just the other day I was on top of the right rock
On top looking north.
Final container...
Log book...

There was no log, no pile of rocks,
No clever impish hiding box.
