Four years ago today (the day this is being published), my wife and I met our now 9 year old daughter for the first time. We went to a country we had never been to to meet her. Unfortunately it would be another three months before we could bring her home. For my birthday she gave me an awesome cache container. So this puzzle is in honor of her birth country.

Here are some hints to the country where this language is based:

  • It was never colonized by the British nor any other foreign country.
  • It has the largest population of any landlocked country.
  • It’s where coffee was first discovered. And every day they have coffee ceremonies where they roast the beans minutes before brewing.
  • Their last king was deemed the Messiah of the Rastafari.
  • Its’ long distance runners are consistently some of the best in the world. In the 2016 Olympics they brought home 8 medals. Their success is partially due to the capital being at over 7,700’ elevation. With mountains surrounding it!
  • Never being colonized, they operate on their own calendar, not the Gregorian calendar most of the world uses. At the time this is published (and until their New Year on September 11, 2017), it is the year 2009.
  • It is mentioned in the Bible 20 times.
  • And most importantly this is where my daughter was born.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

Congrats to Broncocole on solving the puzzle and his daughter for finding the cache!

Easy to solve, hard to figure out how to get to GZ, easy to find. We lived in the country in question for four years, including on the date you met your daughter. The puzzle was easy to solve, but figuring out how to get to the cache was another story. It took me three tries to find the right access, but I wanted to find this cache, since we also have a connection to the country. Studying satellite photos helped me figure out the right access. Loved the container. This one gets a favorite. TFTC

Apparently I am no longer able to find a cache without being accompanied by the lovable and always cheerful herndonrd. Today was no exception, as I was out and about caching with herndonrd simply because I make him look good. Usually, he finds the caches while I look in all the wrong places. We were on a special mission today as he had already found every cache we searched for, and acted as my geo-sherpa today. I appreciated the assistance as I was aiming to find exactly 28 caches to satisfy the requirements of one of the many challenges I signed eons ago. This one was right where the cache owner (i.e. you) left it.

Hooray!

After we did the whole sign and replace thing here we celebrated our victory by hopping back into the car and driving off to another one. Thanks for the fun hide and for getting me outside on such a beautiful day.

P. S. No animals (humans or otherwise) were harmed in the writing of this log.
