Cache is intended to be family and kid friendly.  The cache is located off the main road, accessible year round, but not on the camp's private property. There is a fee for accessing the area (access is gained through entry of Eleven Mile State Park), but the area and activities make this a great opportunity for a day in nature so use your time to explore the rivers, trails and caches nearby no matter the weather or season. GPS bounce/NO cell.

In 2016, the Pikes Peak Council of the Boy Scouts of America celebrates 100 years of service and on August 11, 2016 Camp Alexander celebrates 70 years of giving boys life experience.  Camp Alexander, is located in the Eleven Mile Canyon in the Pike National Forest approximately 45 mi (72 km) west of Colorado Springs, in Park County, and sits between 8,200 and 8,600 feet (2,600 m) elevation. The land was donated in 1946 by J. Don Alexander of the Alexander Film Company.

For the last three years, our boys have attended events and camps at Camp A and we have been fortunate to watch them grow as we grew along with them. The programs the camp and council puts on, such as Wood Badge for leaders, National Youth Leader Training and Order of the Arrow, not to mention the various camps and activities all year round provide a great opportunity for scouts to learn, experience and grow.

Permission for the cache was obtained from a “super sparkly” member of the Pikes Peak Council staff.  BSA supports the geocaching program.

Congrats to FindmeVailTree for the cold FTF!

 Hints

Bison tube about eye-level for a brand new Boy Scout. It is in the obvious location, but GPS coords bounce a little in the canyon, however were consistently within 5'.

Love this canyon. Sproutsnana and I have been here, but not grammydoll or ladybuglooking. So we had to show them this canyon, so beautiful. Took a wrong turn from Lake George and ended up at the lake instead of the canyon, equally beautiful. Thanks for this hide.

We enjoyed the dusty drive up 11mile canyon and took a ton of pictures. SL
