CONGRATULATIONS TO Cache U FOR THE FTF!!
THIS IS A PUZZLE CACHE. IT IS NOT LOCATED AT THE LISTED COORDINATES. Do not go there, or you'll get very wet (or you'll needlessly be walking on ice during the winter). Instead, read details about the cache below, have fun discovering the locations of the art pieces, and then calculate the coordinates for the physical cache.

Fort Collins' residents and visitors are blessed with a diverse array of interesting art forms viewable from public vantages. This puzzle is one in a continuing series that requires locating specific art works or related structures (such as publicly-displayed clocks, unique buildings, or conspicuous features) that are shown in photographs. Each is within the city limits of Fort Collins. Once found, simple arithmetic or other manipulations of each object's coordinates need to be made in order to calculate the actual location of the cache. Other puzzle caches in this series include:

•GC3F8DW Ride a Painted Pony
•GC4DN9R What Time Ya Got, Fort Collins?
•GC20VW5 Disneyland.... Here?

Ten pieces of public art in Fort Collins are featured as images through photo hot links on this cache page. Each is assigned a unique letter. To calculate the cache coordinates you will need to find the locations of all 10 of these objects. Finding certain pieces might be challenging, but by pursuing them you will probably learn more about The Choice City and its amenities. Enjoy your hunt!

After you have discovered each art object determine it's Latitude. Then use the Latitude's integer minutes in the simple equations below to calculate the coordinates of the physical cache container and its geocaching treasure: the log sheet! For example, if the Latitude of the art is N 40° 32.671, the number to use is "32". Do NOT round up.

PLACE LATITUDE

A = __________________________________ _______ int min

B = __________________________________ _______ int min

C = __________________________________ _______ int min

D = __________________________________ _______ int min

E = __________________________________ _______ int min

A+B+C+D+E = Y = __________

F = __________________________________ _______ int min

G = __________________________________ _______ int min

H = __________________________________ _______ int min

J = __________________________________ _______ int min

K = __________________________________ _______ int min

F+G+H+J+K = Z = __________

The coordinates for the cache are:

N 40° 36.(Y-169) (Y-168) (Y-163)

W 105° 05.(Z-162) (Z-155) (Z-163)

Enjoy learning more about The Choice City as you seek out the locations of the 10 art pieces needed to solve this puzzle. It's a darned nice city, and this cache should enhance your familiarity with certain of its special dimensions. The cache is a medium-sized medicine vial that has been camoed.

I extend my appreciation to DES, whose caches in the "Where Are You..." series inspired this puzzle cache. I've truly enjoyed the world-wide "searches" I've made in order to solve the puzzles in his series! He's encouraged me to create this puzzle cache, which is one of several caches of this genre that I am publishing for the Fort Collins area.

Finally made it back out to this cache so I could log it. Solved the whole series last month and decided that since it was such a nice day and I had it off, that we needed to get out and finish logging everything. This was our last stop for the day since Dud&Plato had already grabbed it before. We had no luck at the other two locations we visited. But at the second stop we decided that there were too many mosquitos out too take a really good look. So we moved along and made a pit stop at this location since I knew for sure that it was back in place. Thanks again for the great series. It has made me more aware of all of the great art around us even though I don't need to find any more art, I'm still looking at it when I drive or walk by. TFTC|SL

I was in the area so I did a recheck on this cache. When I made the replacement early in the month I noticed that a couple of muggles were watching with interest, so I've been concerned that they might have removed the cache. It was as hidden in the correct location, so all continues to be good to go on this one.

BriaTeragram recently contacted me, suggesting there may be a problem with the final on this puzzle cache. Today I checked and the cache container was indeed missing. I replaced it, so the cache is again ready for finding. Thanks for the heads up on this, BriaTeragram. After making the replacement I took my puppies Orizaba and Chimborazo for a nice walk in the general vicinity. They had a great outing!

Aha! I'm NOT crazy! I actually solved this a while ago, but when I went to what I had figured as the final location, there was nothing there. I assumed I'd done something wrong and set it aside, meaning to go re-check art locations. But this morning I noticed the note, so I zipped up to the original location and lo! and behold - there it was! Yay!

Thank you for replacing this cache! It is our one hundredth puzzle cache find! There was one art object that we could not find, but Hubby came up with two possible places it might be. Checked out both places with no luck. I finally asked someone where the art object was and came up with these coordinates again. We have had a great time with this series. TFTC

I had a note from Doglover&Pups indicating the cache might be missing. My puppy Orizaba and I checked on it today. Yes, it was gone, and I replaced it and the log paper. Thanks for the heads up!

Before the recent snowstorm I spent time checking many of my urban and farm caches and making any repairs that were necessary. This cache and the related art pieces are in proper positions, and the cache await finders.

I actually knew where all the art pieces were except one! So, all the finding and calculating for this cache was done last week and I went to the final location this wonderfully warm afternoon to log my find. The recent snowmelt made this an easier find than it would have been otherwise. Cache was in decent shape. SL, TFTC!
