I agree with icezebra11. This is a great puzzle. Those are fateful dates indeed.

I looked at this puzzle for an hour or so when it first came out, then started looking more earnestly recently as I wanted to make a geocaching run up to the "far North". I contacted the owner and received the same information the other two solvers (there's also an out of state solver) had received. The only way that really helped me is that it narrowed down the years I needed to look. Then I had an idea and got lucky. That aha moment was so sweet.

Like icezebra11, I will not disclose any hints on this puzzle, so please ask the owner.
The cache was quickly found. Thanks again for a challenging head scratcher. Cheers.

What a truly superb puzzle!! Its simplicity and ingenuity will amaze you once you've discovered why these dates are indeed fateful. But of course, to discover its simplicity, one must find one's way through the devilish obscurity and that is no easy task! In all fairness, I admit to receiving some assistance from Denali41. Most of that assistance involved confirming certain rabbit holes were indeed dead ends. The one nudge I did receive was also shrouded in fog and surely wasn't an easy one to interpret and make the connection. Chances are it would have been a much longer period of running into dead ends and increasing frustration levels had I not tried a path that somewhat fit the veiled tap. I was truly astonished when I found the key.

Yes, indelible memories for so many! There is much more I could write associated with my memories but to do so without making the obscure clear, would be as difficult as solving the puzzle. I will not disclose any hints at all on this, please do not ask me. You'll need to ask Denali41.

It was with more luck than skill that I signed the log as {FTF}. Thank you Denali41 for this splendid mystery cache!!!
