When the Smoky Hill neighborhoods were developed decades ago it included several small neighborhood parks nestled away among the houses, most not on a city street. Marina Park is one of those.

This is part of a series and a companion to the "It's a Cache Basin" series. Marina Park is one of those small quiet neighborhood parks. Cache is a camo'd 1"X4" container with a log and a few other things. BYOP. Park is closed from 10 PM - 5 AM. Parking is available on E Grand Ave with about a 200m hike through the park to GZ.

It always worries me about these relatively new urban caches when they haven’t been found in a while even without any DNFs. When we saw all the freshly fallen leaves over the boulders that really worried me. Fortunately the coordinates were perfect and I spotted this one quickly. Unfortunately two loose dogs came after our dog (who was on a leash & protective) and they went round before the owners could finally get control.

Apparently I am no longer able to find a cache without being accompanied by the lovable and always cheerful herndonrd. Today was no exception, as I was out and about caching with herndonrd simply because I make him look good. Usually, he finds the caches while I look in all the wrong places. We were on a special mission today as he had already found every cache we searched for, and acted as my geo-sherpa today. I appreciated the assistance as I was aiming to find exactly 28 caches to satisfy the requirements of one of the many challenges I signed eons ago. This one was right where the cache owner (i.e. you) left it.

After we did the whole sign and replace thing here we celebrated our victory by hopping back into the car and driving off to another one. Thanks for the fun hide and for getting me outside on such a beautiful day.
