The location of this cache is at the foot of a landslide caused by the flood of 2013. If you drive a little farther south along Hwy 7, you'll see that flood created a much larger landslide behind Wind River Ranch. Twin Sisters is a taller and steeper mountain than Lily, so it sports a more spectacular scar. As so much of the soil has been washed away by the rushing water, it will take a very long time for vegetation to recolonize the barren landscape. You can still see the scar from the 1982 Lawn Lake flood, at the base of which is one of RMNP's many earthcaches: Roaring River Alluvial Fan (GC230BK).

As you stand at the posted coordinates, look up at the scar. On the right-hand side, about 130 feet from where you're standing, is the cache. Look at the spoiler photo to find it. Due to the need to maintain a stamp and an inkpad in the cache, it's better not to use it to exchange swag. Please don't take any of the cache contents, as I will have to replace them.

We looked around for this one and believe it to be gone because if the construction nearby. A fair amount of dirt has been moved around. The views were still good and seeing the power of water here was incredible.

I wonder if it has been moved due to all the road grating and debris dumped.

Waawhoo FTF at 8:30 am. The flood was just so devastating to see all the scarring everywhere I could be here for a lifetime now. I was in Estes Park the night before the flood. We drove down the canyon 11 o’clock the night before. This is a great letterbox. Thanks path pacer for the hide and coin!
