Well this certainly turned out to be an adventure. We were on our way back from Laramie to Fort Collins. We wanted to find the geocache hidden here at the rest stop. We had read the previous cachers logs about finding the letterbox but not the geocache.

After a few minutes my daughters boyfriend found a container that turned out to be the letterbox. When I took out the log my first reaction was sadness. I had been a letterboxer many years ago here in Colorado and had met Prebox several times. I was sad because she had passed away from cancer.

As I opened the log book I found that the first to finders was myself and two kids I was out with on a letterboxing trip. I had totally forgotten about this find so many years ago (12 years ago). As I flipped through the log I found another log of mine and my new husband 7 years later.

We replaced the container and continued our search. After a bit the boyfriend says "Found It". It was a plastic baggie that was tightly wedged under some rocks. However, once it was extracted, we found it was someone's marijuana stash!

So, we found to caches but neither were of the variety we were looking for but thank you so much for the unique DNF

Made a quick trip to Denver for a car part and of course I included geocaching at all my stops along the way. My route took me through Wyoming on the way there with a few side roads for special caches and then return via I-70 through southern Utah. I only wish the days would have been longer so I could have found more finds.

Last find for the night. It was getting late and I still needed to find a place to sleep and the darkness was thick. This rest stop is still closed, so parked on the road and walked in to the cache. Very little traffic at this time of night on the road, and I think only 2 cars passed by while I was at G Z. Cool cache, and some fun swag.

I quickly found the letterbox just about where my GPSr indicated the container should be and happily retrieved it, only to see the disappointing message on the outside. Several more minutes of searching yielded nothing; perhaps the caching container is missing. TFTC anyway.

A quick find as we headed north.

It was fascinating how different the landscape is from Denver where we started the day.
