After finding one of our caches along Barr Trail, a caching friend joked in his log that the cache should have been the first cache in a new Ferrous series.  We thought starting such a series was a great idea.  Therefore, this is the first (of hopefully many) caches in our new "Ferrous" series.  This cache is hidden off of the Santa Fe Trail.

The cache is NOT hidden at the posted coordinates.  Solve the following puzzle to determine where the cache is hidden.

Find the fraction hidden on this cache page.  Convert this fraction to a decimal.  Add the first three digits to the right of the decimal point to both the latitude and longitude of the posted coordinates.  The resulting coordinates are where you should go look for the cache.  Good luck!

Congratulations to brennan7 for FTF and to kenyansherpa for a close STF!!!

Hahaha! I love that this series has come to fruition! Having found the "prequel" ferrous cache, I wasn't sure how involved this was going to be...but the cache was nice and easily accessible, even with some residual snow. Thanks for placing this one...looking forward to more in this series!

Took me awhile before I spotted the fraction! Nice idea for a puzzle! The walk to this one was great exercise after getting off work early today.
Thanks!

It seems the farther out this way the more Ferrous pieces you see along the trail.

Thanks for the cache!

Fun puzzle. This trail seems familiar since I was just here two days ago. Lol. Tftc!

I recently solved another puzzle that used a similar method (it's in another state so most folks won't have seen it). I quickly did the calculations and had the approval from the checker. I wasn't as motivated as the early birds and opted for a nice mid day walk in nice temperatures. I lucked out and found it in the first place I checked. I'm looking forward to more of the new series.
