The trek to the cache (parking to hiding place) is pretty easy, but getting there is along a road that can get pretty muddy and during some weather conditions require an SUV or truck. This cache is placed along a long road through some GREAT views. I promise if you take the time to get out this far you will not be disapointed! I PROMISE!
You might want to make a day of it. I usually go out there around 3:00PM and play around looking at the great rock formations while waiting for the sunset. Then head out in the dark. Be careful for deer and cows!
To get close, take the Debeque exit off I-70 then follow 45 road to X 1/2 road take a left Follow this road until waypoint N39 degrees 22.881 minutes and W108 degrees 21.562 take slight left Follow that road for about 5 miles take a left at what my GPS calls "road". (should be a cattle guard on the main road and on the left you are going to take) Follow this road for another 5 miles to the cache.
It is in an ammo box hidden from sight under a tree. It will be had to miss why I call this cache "the lion". Be sure to stop along the way and check out all the canyon views, the rock formations and if you are lucky to be there at sunset, get your camera ready!
Inside the cache is: Duck Pen, brain pencil, post-it pad and holder, stainless steel pen, and the log.
to the left of "the lion" under one of the bigger trees, covered by three small rocks.

05/24/2012 By Team Jim and Bev Nice drive. The road is in good shape at this point. One good rain could change that. Thanks for the cache. TNLN SL
06/07/2011 By gjhiker Easily found after hiking the last two miles to the cache. (The road was washed out bad enough that we couldn't get our CRV across it.) TNLN. SL. Great views! T4TC!
