I have a reputation with some of the big puzzle creators in the area for coming up with entirely legitimate but entirely wrong solutions to some puzzles. This one was no exception. Seems that the solution intended isn't unique, and I came up with an alternate that also works, so had no idea what to do with the results. After demonstrating the alternate solution he CO was kind enough to provide the correct one, and the answer became clear.
