One of my favorite things about Christmas are the ornaments on the tree, they are small festive art pieces. As a tradition every year I buy special ornaments for my kiddos and people that are special to me. I take my time and put a lot of thought into buying them, usually they are themed with something particular and unique about the year itself. So the tree is like a time capsule of our lives and when we trim the tree every year we enjoy reminiscing over years past.

Last year for the first time... I saw a shiny pickle ornament and learned the story of the "Christmas Pickle". Tradition says you hide the pickle on the Christmas Tree last and the first one to find it Christmas morning would receive an extra special gift...What??? That sounds like GEOCACHING to me!

My mom also gives myself and my siblings a new ornament every year. This year was a truck with a Christmas tree in the back. Thanks for sharing your tradition with me! Cache is in great shape. Log is about 3/4 full. TFTC.

Oh nice! Love the hide! I happened to be out here to a FTF and afterwards saw I had a couple in found out here. This is such a great area to hike in! Thanks for another great reason to be out here today. I got to the parking area and hiked over to the Gz, A quick search and I laughed when I saw what was next to the container. We actually play this game when we decorate the yule tide tree. I will have to bring our friend that introduced us to the pickle finding to your cache.
