Out enjoying a little hike on black Friday with the Geodoodle...along with many other people, apparently!

The plan was to stop for this cache first before moving onto Mondo's Ridge down the trail. However, when I got to ground zero, there were two people approximately 100 feet directly uphill of the spot. I looked at them for awhile (for a moment I thought they were geocachers). I have no idea what they were doing other than it looked like they were digging around a couple of large boulders. One of them turned around and waved at me, so after waving back, I decided I would move on and go to Mondo's Ridge and get this one on the way back. Lo and behold, they were still there when I returned, still digging around the same boulder. Again, one of them turned around and waved at me, and I waved back again. I managed to stop in just the right location to make adjustments to my backpack, change some clothing, and try to nonchalantly grab the cache. After hiding it, I made a hasty retreat. Whoever those people were, they were very friendly! They seemed like they were either scientists or maybe working on some falling boulder mitigation...? Maybe they knew what I was up to? At any rate, it was entertaining! TFTC!

Cache #1029! Really really tired by this point. Cache was in good shape and found very quickly. TFTC!
