"Belmar is not only a national model for rethinking the urban design of our suburbs, it also reset the bar for green building techniques in the market. The near billion dollar development incorporated a variety of sustainable building technologies and practices into its design. Belmar partnered with some of the best resources available including the National Renewable Energy Lab, headquartered in Lakewood to help set the standards for the new neighborhood’s ecological footprint."

This three-stage multi-cache is intended to be tricky with two field puzzles before reching the final location to sign the log. The starting coordinates put you in the area of the Belmar Wind Farm, however, I am not telling you where to find the information to solve the clues. You will need to find where that information is posted within the farm.

Stage 1

This stage is virtual. You will need to solve the field puzzle in order to advance. If you can find the posted information, use it to solve the puzzle below in order to get the coordinates for Stage 2. I have provided a coordinate checker for this stage.

Stage 2 can be found at 39 AB.CDE, 105 FG.HIJ where:

  • A = Wind turbines are the oppostie of a _____. (number of letters + 1)
  • B = The maximum power is achieved when these turbines are spinning at _____mph. (first digit)
  • C = Each turbine weighs _____lbs. (first digit)
  • D = Each wind turbine rotor spins up to _____rpm. (first digit)
  • E = These turbines have a rotor diameter of _____". (first digit)
  • F = Turbines create _____ power. (number of letters - 2)
  • G = These turbine blades are made from _____ _____. (total letters - 7)
  • H = This wind farm generates _____ kW electricity/month. (sum the digits + 1)
  • I = There is a quote here from a famous singer. (The number of L's in the singer's first and last names combined).
  • J = The number of turbines in this farm. (second digit)

Stage 2

If your coordinates are correct from stage 1, then you should find your clue for the Final coordinates at this location. The clue is provided by my good friends at J and J.

Final

It will be a little bit of a walk to the Final location, but it a very pleasant walk. Please use stealth when obtaining and returning the final cache.

Coodinate Check for Stage 2. You shouldn't need one for the Final Stage.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

A fun and well done multi that earns a favorite point. Puzzles were not too difficult, but my lack of observation skills and preconceived ideas gave me fits on both solutions. Thanks to the CO for nudging me along! It was a pleasant walk to the final and brought back memories of old caches in the area. Cheers!

FTF @ 7:35pm with ScottThePoolBoy. We started our endeavor around 3pm and made the puzzles so much more difficult than they were... naturally. Awesome cache! Thanks!
