This is a tongue in cheek geocache based on previous experiences. The micro isn't unusual but the puzzle is.

Ever run into an offset geocache that makes you wonder what to do with the numbers. This will make it worse.

Stand at the above coordinates and look around. Parking is close by.

Off to the north about 70 yards you can see a wood pile. Multiply 70 by 0.26559 and subtract this from the latitude.
Off to the west about 100 feet you can see a sign. Multiply 100 by 5.05249 and subtract this from the longitude.

Okay, here is where the confusion starts.
You cannot add degrees or minutes to feet, yards, signs, piles, years, etc. or you flunk grade school math.
I could say, well, just add the numbers to the decimal portion of the minutes.
So magically I have created a conversion factor of (Yards * Degrees) / (1000 * Yards).

Working with longitude gets worse. Taking the above longitude, -104 45.760 and adding 100 gives -104 45.860.
Actually it doesn't because longitude is negative. The correct answer is -104 45.660.

So, is there a correct way to do this? Yep, several, or this geocache wouldn't exist.

We thought we had the puzzle figured out but gampa failed to read the cache description completely. Messaged the CO and fixed our error. Signed log and replaced container as found. Thanks for the fun puzzle cache.

Solved this one the old school way (the CO knows what I mean). Slowly working off the CO's caches and didn't bother him on this one. TFTC!

Had parked here a few days ago when getting another cache. Thought we would solve it at home. That didn't work for us so we came back today and tried to find it like a "Dork" hide but that also didn't work. Guess we are back to trying to figure out the math.

I tried solving this one in the field over a year ago with no success. Today, PayMeCache and I decided to put our heads together to see if we could figure it out. After arriving at a location that made sense, we searched and came up empty. It was then that PMC says "I have an email about this from the CO. Maybe it will help." Now he tells me.

After reading the email, I got an idea and redid the math. Happy with the numbers, I looked around and figured out where we needed to go. Prior logs confirmed my suspicions and PMC made the grab. We both are thrilled to have finally solved this one. Thanks for the fun puzzle and hide.

Finally able to get this off my naughty list. Came here with fearthefish. We tried a couple different things that showed promising as we approached. Turned out we flunked grade school math. We tried one other thing that didn't work either. We finally decided to use geochecker. We were wrong with our ideas. In the field we read some things and decided that we had figured it out without the answer in hand. Fearthefish spotted the correct post and we were quickly signing the log. Thanks for a cerebral screw!

If I was being totally honest, I would have posted a DNF a couple of months ago, but I spent another half-hour or so looking for the cache this weekend, so I figured it was time to fess up. I got a small hint from the CO some time ago, along with the advice not to overthink it. Unfortunately, it seems I can't help but do just that - I thought I could get by without getting the "success" page on Geochecker, thinking some of my work may have been only a few feet off this way or that. Nope. Anyway, I remain determined to finally cross this one off my list!

I was here looking for Gnarly Toffee, and tried a couple of ideas in the field. One took me to a lot of posts, but I didn't find a cache. Gonna try something different on Google Maps..

Found out on a cache run with OF-Erad...We found two containers and one which had what appeared to be the original log was signed by Hiking Fool in 2006 and then the next signature was 3WilliamsKids in Mar 2014. Wonder where it was for 8 years...Gave us something to talk about for the next hour as we tried to unravel the mystery of the two containers...TFTC SL
