Found this time. The cache hide hint definitely helped. Cheers.

Spent a while looking. I think I was mis-interpreting previous comments or the location has now changed. Anyway I now have a hint from the owner for when I'm next in the area. Cheers.

Here we are. The last cache of 2017. It’s been full of some great memories for me. Joining up with this CO to get the two big storm drains in Lakewood, getting another states oldest cache (MO), over 600 finds (personal best), over 100 finds in a day (personal best), and completing the DPL series.
But one of the best things to happen has been getting to know the CO and his family a bit. Great people and amazing cachers. Especially for being relatively new. Thanks for challenging me mentally and physically.
For this hide I actually managed to solve it with a bit of a nudge. Not too crazy. The hide I found to be more challenging though. So many options. The aerial map helped narrow it down though.
Once I found it, in keeping up with “tradition” with this container, I chucked it into the water. Then I threw in a replacement container just for good measure. Kind of like throwing pennies in a fountain...
Then I felt bad about throwing away two perfectly good containers, so I ignored the thin ice warning and just went for it. The water was cold but retrieving small pieces of plastic made it totally worth the hypothermia.
All in all a great way to end the year, frostbite notwithstanding. Who needs thumbs anyway!?
DISCLAIMER: Some of the statements in this log are grossly exaggerated.
HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!
Thanks for the hide the5millers
