This is another cache along the 40 West Artline in the West Colfax area of Lakewood. It is best approached by walking or biking along Lakewood Gulch bike path during daylight hours. Be aware that there can be homeless people in this park. (I bike past here weekly without issue. But one geocacher had an encounter with a homeless person coming out of a restroom who asked for money; so I wanted to share that information with other cachers.) I have recently replaced the container and put in a new log. We will see if this one can withstand the elements.
The ArtLine is an art experience located along West Colfax Avenue. If you do the entire ArtLine, it is 4 miles long. It is accessible via RTD lightrail at the Lamar Station on the W Line and is very bikable or walkable too during the daylight hours. There is also street parking nearby on a side street if you are short on time and just want to find the cache. There are more than 70 public art installations along the ArtLine. My favorite is a piece called Hidden Dinosaurs by an artist named Michelle Wolins. There are 11 similar structures along the ArtLine and each one has a "hidden" dinosaur in it. Some are really obvious and others are more abstract. This geocache is close to the one that features the head of a T-Rex (at 1300 Harlan Street). The T-Rex is really visible at night when the structure is lit up. Other nearby art pieces include a hop scotch mural on the bike path, a beautiful sun/flower painting, a kinetic scuplture on the outskirts of Montair Park, and Healing Visualization on the metal fence.
