Day 5 of an epic 6 day journey out to the western frontier. I had some vacation time that I needed to burn up by the end of the year, and what better way to use it than to go Geocaching! My main goal was to find caches in New Mexico and Nevada, which would complete my map in the western US. The rest of the 4 remaining states are on the East Coast. Secondary goals were to find oldies, mostly virtuals, and high favorited caches. The only bad part of the trip was that it rained every single day of my vacation.
I headed south out of MN on Sunday and returned home on Friday.
Sunday - Drive all the way through to Colorado (15 hours!)
Monday - Cache in and around Denver and Colorado Springs, with an attempt at Pike's Peak (closed at Mile 14)
Tuesday - Head south towards GC19 and then west through Wolf Creek Pass
Wednesday - Four Corners monument and west towards Nevada
Thursday - After a night in Richfield, UT, head east through the skiing areas of Colorado towards Nebraska
Friday - The long drive home
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for me to find and for keeping the oldies going all these years.
Pretty neat piece of history here. Thanks for sharing!

MPLC

Our English is not perfect, we use Google Translate to help us ...
Our journey began last August 22 and will take us to visit twelve US states and two Canadian provinces ... Our departure was from Baie-Comeau, a city on the North Shore of Quebec and then continue for a few days in Quebec City where we did some Geocaching .... Then we stopped at St-Eustache and Ville de Laval, still in Quebec, and then flew to Portland, Oregon... We made stop in Umatilla on August 28 still in Oregon, August 29 in Boise, Idaho, August 30 in Twin Falls and August 31st we are in Salt Lake City for two days... The 2nd of september we were in Rock Springs. Wyoming and yesterday the road brought us to Laramie, Wyoming... Today our trip will take us to Colorado Springs where we will stay for two days
Throughout the trip we have targeted some caches that will help us achieve our personal goals and we will certainly discover new places that Geocachers here will want us to discover ... We have been planning this trip for several months and know we will not be able to not all see for lack of time ... There are many caches but we must close our eyes can not find them all ... But it is with pleasure that we will put our signature on some of them ...
Thank you for creating these caches that add smiles to our profile and make us have a good time regardless of the mood of Mother Nature ... Our log will be the same for the whole day and if there is a particularity we will add it at the beginning of the text ... Favorites will be added here and there for all the work done ... TFTC

Visiting Fort Collins from Phoenix Arizona and sightseeing and caching today. I remember meeting Tahosa and doing some of his caches when he lived in Phoenix and so when I saw he had caches here, I had to do a couple. Thank you Tahosa for placing this Virtual cache for us to find and learn about. My answers to be messaged.

It was a bit hard to find a parking spot here, as already mentioned by CO. But we managed, and we could get the info and have sent it to CO. My husband Kiko58 will log later :)
Thanx for the cache, what you can find along your way by the help of geocaching!

Not familiar with this area, but can see how many individuals would drive by this marker and totally miss. No parking and not set back from the road to make it more visible. No doubt there is a reason why it is placed where it is. Responses emailed to CO. TFTC. Definite favorite from me.
Small world! Happen to know the previous cacher from Iowa.

Stopped on my way from Iowa. I always make it a point to stop and get all the virtual caches in the area as they are my favorite type of cache.
Parking was a bit tricky, but made it to GZ to get the info I needed.
TFTC!!

We had originally planned to visit this area a few days from now. But snow was forecasted for that day, so we made a last minute decision to spend our Sunday up around Fort Collins and Loveland. We enjoyed this bit of history along the way. Answers are sent. TFTC!

Parking was scarce indeed, but it was a nice day and interessting to dig into the background of this cache. Nice one.

We are heading to Roosevelt National Park near Fort Collins. The goal is to enjoy the mountains and do a nice trail. Finally, the weather is good on a Sunday. I have two colleagues who are going to find their first geocache today.
What a weird location for this stone. We actually liked the house that stands there with some stables.
Thank you Tahosa for this cache and maintaining it. Cheers, Huizeblauw from The Netherlands. Find 2523 on 8 okt. 2017.

Thanks to Tahosa for creating this cache. Mrs.24Adventure said she remembers reading about such caches in history books. Now a cache to celebrate them! Fave point for sure! Answers to be emailed.
