Nice hike any time of the year, although chances of seeing mustangs are better in the winter, early spring and fall. The gate is closed to motorized vehicles from December 1 thru May 1. So may not be totally accessable to some, but if you are up for a hike it is about 2 miles up Coal Canyon.

I haven't been up Coal Canyon for a couple of years so figured it was a good day to take a hike. Got to 2 mile pond and who do we find, Laramie and his band and also up on the hill above the pond was Medicine Bow and Diamond Rio. So thought it would be a good place to place a cache.The cache is located between the pond and what is called a guzzler (rain catcher for birds).

If you bring your dog please make sure they don't chase the horses. Congrats to Whizzkid for the FTF!

Hiking with CO Bio and a few muggles so didn’t have time to look well. Another time. Didn't see animals. Wonder how many saw us.

What a beautiful winters day. Sunny but cold enough to be comfortable. Just enough snow to get the mud off. No horses today but a great walk. Blue and I thank you for the cache!
