From Rifle Gap take C.R.252 (W. Rifle Creek Rd.) for less than 2 miles, at the fork go right onto C.R.219 (Middle Rifle Creek Rd.). The pavement stops at the Correctional Center but continue traveling on for another 1/2 mile where you will see a pull off on the right, this is the trailhead for BLM Tr. # 8090 and where the adventure begins. The trail is narrow and rugged but can be had on foot or in a good 4x4.
This is a two stage multi. The first stage is a small camoed container located close to the trailhead and holds the coordinates to the second stage. The second and final stage is located about a mile up the trail, it's a lock-n-lock that contains a log, pencil and a few trading items. Both caches are fairly close to the trail but the second is a little farther away than the first. The altitude difference between the two stages is around 550 feet.

"Gee a mile isn't too far for the final cache in this multi". Reconsider when it is 95 degrees outside. Still a great cache. One we really had to work for on this day! P.S. Don't wear flip flops (amateur mistake)!

Hot girl! 91 F now and I am wilting. It's been a cool spring where I live and this is too much, too soon but I made it. Did this day backwards. Should have hiked before kayaking. A canyon wren was singing its little heart out while I enjoyed the view. DArR must be a hunter. Why would anyone ever come here except to hunt or geocache?
I think I started this one a long time ago. Maybe I never found the first stage that time.
Cache is in great condition. Took Robot Gnome TB and will help it move to Roswell. The Compass Rose TB was not in the cache.
Thanks for another multi and the chance to get far from the vehicle and rev my heart rate.

11:19 at the final. My adventure began when I parked in the wrong parking area and had to go up and down up and down to stage 1. From then on I stayed the course on the trail and hiked up. I know why I got here: you placed a cache. But how the heck did you find your way here? Absolutely fantastic - this is what geocaching is all about for me. Mile marking three travel bugs. TNLNSL Gets a favorite point. PS I'm wild about the stage 1 container. I've gotta find where those come from.

What's a girl to do when she has a day off, the kiddo is in school, and there are chores to be done? Why go find geocaches of course! Ya got to have priorities!
Had to approach this one on foot. The way up was very pleasant due to cloud coverage and a mild sprinkling of rain! The way back was mother nature's fury. Thunder, lightning, pouring rain and even a little hail! The dog and I made it back to the car soaking wet and a muddy mess!
Thanks for the great cache! It's always nice to get out and make a physical effort to find caches!

TFTC. I started to walk to the final cache but decided to hop in the truck. Glad I did!
