Found it. The little plastic casing with the log. The case is crushed and the log is pretty damaged. It’s not going to last in the next rain. I put it back but the case is broken. Log won’t last much longer.

Spent some time on this without success. Had a chat with the man operating the front loader. He explained to me that the City's project out there was for the 100 year flood plain plan. I gave him a quick explanation of geocaching. When I told him I was not successful finding the cache, he offered to use the front loader to move some boulders. I said thanks for the offer but I don't think that would be necessary and I would make a return trip. Maybe I need a stronger flashlight.
