Hmm Well one of 1009's many signatories must have got tired of leaving well enough alone. I crawled all over - up, down, around & down in the slot too. All I saw were tons of pack rat nesting evidence; and a lot of broken beer bottle glass.
Left a replacement "log" you can sign (bring ink) secured by three rock slabs in a head-high cubby in the slot down between. You'll still have to climb... still nothing technical required.

FINALLY! Bandit and I went hiking in Red Canyon Park and then I realized that I still had not found this one, so we headed over to it. Today I left my GPS in my pocket and just started looking around. I was quite surprised when I spotted it very quickly. There are many signatures in the log that I didn't recognize. I think they are probably muggles who came across it accidentally. Fortunately none of them destroyed or stole the cache. The lid was not all the way on, but everything was dry and in good shape. I did remove a bag of candy. I added a couple of swag items, signed the log, made sure the lid was on tight, and tucked it back just a little better than I found it. I sat on top and enjoyed the view for a while while Bandit climbed all over the rock. (I think his mother must have slept with a mountain goat.) You sure have a knack for finding spots with great views. I'm happy to get this off my DNF list. Thanks!

From the looks of the map, the town has exploded with caches in the Las two years. That's cool.

I took a longer route to this than was necessary, but I eventually got there. I spotted something that looked like a cache container (see photo) in a very hard to get to spot. When I finally got to it I saw that it was just a plastic soda bottle. I climbed back up the rock and followed my GPS as far as I had the nerve to go. If the cache is where the GPS was leading me I just did not have the nerve to crawl out there. I might revisit this one in the future.
