The structure to the southwest was a railroad grain elevator, which had a spur and (obviously) a grade crossing. Grain that was grown in the area was loaded onto trains (later trucks) here. The railroad named this spur Marion.

I remember looking at trains from the family car while crossing these tracks when I was young.

Like this kind of cache. Got a little bit of history along with it. Had never paid much attention to the location prior to the find. Signed the log and replaced the cache. Thanks corejack for the hide.
