This hide isn't intended to be evil, but signal bounce and power lines definitely are factors to be considered. It's hidden sort of like a NICE BrokenTee cache -- in a standard place and with the some geo-markers to help show you the right spot. Winter friendly if there isn't TOO much snow. Terrain of 3 is because of the distance of the hike -- the trail is pretty nice.
After a spontaneous walk along the ridge enjoying the views and finding some caches, I was headed back down the trail and saw someone who looked familiar heading my direction. My first thought was, "Hey, it's BrokenTee!" Then it hit me that he was no longer with us in person, so it couldn't possibly be him. I stopped in my tracks. As I waited for the gentleman to pass by on the narrow trail, I looked at my GPSr -- I was EXACTLY a tenth of a mile from the two nearest caches, right in the middle. My next thought was, "Dang! I wish I would have brought a cache with me to hide here" (but I hadn't planned on caching today, so I hadn't brought my usual supplies). Then I remembered that I had a stray container and log in my pack!
The perfect alignment of all these variables made me think that perhaps my friend BrokenTee IS still with us -- maybe he even was walking with me today.
So this cache is for our friend, Dale BrokenTee. We miss seeing him and seeking his latest creative hides, but may his spirit always be with us -- especially on the trail. FTF: WOW, Borian, you are HARD CORE! Congrats on the night-owl FTF! Interestingly, I first met BrokenTee at a late-night winter FTF quest for a TaylorGT cache. Cool overlap....
