The Lost Cafe
I am placing this cache in memory of my mom who always loved her coffee. The cache container itself is an old coffee tin that she brought back from Italy and it still has a coffee sent to it. Love you and miss you mom.

Now for the cache, I was on a caching adventure with Swaltalicious and her boy along Green Mountain Road. We found a nice place to park and headed due East. Over several fallen timbers until we got to a clearing, walked across the clearing noting the strange sound under foot. Then I broke through the ice, the entire lowland was a bog of frozen water. We carefully picked our way across and made it back into the trees. Once we arrived at the rim we then took a direct route in the snow down the face.
The cace is hidden well and deep and may not be accessible when there is more snow. From on top there is a great view of the rim you now have to scramble back up to and the other side of the canyon.

Ran over from the cabin to grab a few caches while the family cooked dinner. Thanks for the hide! BP

I'm thinking that the 4 terrain rating must have been for the uncomfortable and long drive over dry, washboard roads in order to get to the parking spot. As Ernie said, we've been eyeing this cache and the swaltalicious cache ever since they were hidden last November. We had many discussions over the practicality of attempting it before the road was opened. I was thrilled when we were able to grab the FTF on both of them. Thanks for bringing us out there.

Estes01 and I have been eyeing this cache for months, waiting for the snow to melt enough to go searching. Finally the weather and both of our schedules worked out and we made the trek today. We found the cache without incident and signed the log in the FTF spot.

We didn't encounter a bog, though some areas have very thick grass and look like they could be wet at times. It was smooth sailing on relatively flat, unobstructed ground until the beginning of the descent. Even that wasn't as bad as some other A.J. caches we've done lately Evil. Good views, partly obstructed by smoke from a fire in New Mexico. SL, TFTC!

We got pretty close but there is still several feet of snow,so looking for the cache is fruitless..........:)
