This is Steve

North East Colorado. LOTS of cacti, choose footwear carefully.
This is an out of the norm area on the eastern plains of Northern Colorado. The Pawnee Buttes are just to the east and a great place to hike with the family. Wet Spring times are a great time to enjoy this area as the wild flowers and cactus blooms are everywhere. The cache is named "Meet Steve" because while scouting a hiding place, we met Steve. Steve is a Tree. In this area there are many trails. Along one trail, near the picnic ground is where Steve has made his home. Steve is a very old Cottonwood tree, his open branches are a great places for kids varmit and panic parents. Steve has a large family in the park.

Steve the tree is the second stage of this cache! His coords are in the log book. Please try to find and meet Steve.

This area is closed at times, but a sign on the gate states that foot traffic is welcome. The cache is just a short walk from the gate and a parking area is available if the gate is closed.

This park area is a great find, Bring a picnic lunch or camp during the summer/fall. At the west side of the park, there is a old farm equipment display and nature trail to visit as well. NOTE: Some of the areas in the park require that you pay a fee, others dont. The first parking area (near the ball field) is free parking, picnicing, resting. During the spring and summer there is a campground host if you have any questions about the park fees.

Spent the day looking for geocaches in the grasslands. Container does need to be replaced; there is no lid. There is logbook and logsheets that we combined into the plastic bag. Cleaned up the loose papers under the tree. SL, TFTC.
