Scenic view  Dangerous Animals  Parking available  Special Tool Required  Short hike (less than 1km)

Short ~0.11 mile hike on a mountain trail off Lookout Mountain Road. Park where available. The best spot is at a pull off at a hairpin turn.

This cache originally (all original cache containers and tools) were hidden near Weston, PA around 2010-2013 and much fun was had. I rescued it due to forest logging and brought it to Colorado!
This time I wanted to get you thinking, and possibly a bit crazy.

Take a short mountain hike to what may be your final grip on sanity.

The GZ will lead you to a container. This is not the geocache, but it contains a tool that you will use to locate the cache container.

The hints will help narrow your search by about 50%. This may sound like a big help but don't let your guard down. You will most likely become frustrated and a little bit crazy.

Follow the directions exactly and use the item provided to make the find.

You will also feel immensely satisfied when (IF) you find it!

Good Luck and take your time. You're gonna need it!

Please, due to the uniqueness of this particular cache, do not give away any hints or clues as to what the tool is. It should be a surprise to every new cacher.

This took a little while on a hot day, but I was able to make the find before totally dehydrating...:-) Thanks for the fun.

I had a feeling what was needed for this cache before I went and I was right! I had done a similar cache before. I was by myself which was a bit of a disadvantage but didn't turn out to be too bad. I actually spent longer longer at the first stage than for the actual cache. My GPS was leading me somewhere else. Sometime during my hunt I slipped off a rock and bashed my shin. Still it was a fun cache and worthy of a favourite point.

Wow, what an adventure! I am visiting Colorado from Dallas,TX, and grabbing some caches in the area. While at the top of the mountain, this one caught my eye. The description was intriguing and the lure of the STF was strong, especially after so many months. My son and I decided to go for it.

We bushwhacked down from the lot above, crossed the road, and started down the steep incline. We got to GZ and had a hard time locking in on one specific spot. So we started to hunt. There were so many spots to check and after 20 minutes we were getting a bit frustrated. Then my son saw something and we knew we had stage one. Now we had to figure out what to do next. After some close study it became obvious what our next step had to be.

And so we started another hunt. This was hard work. We climbed, and slid, and crossed each other's paths a number of times. I'm glad there was two of us as it made this stage much easier than it would be with just one person! I was getting tired but decided to basically start all over again. Just then my son made the find (again!). Hooray!

All-in-all, it took us about 45 minutes to complete the task, but we were thrilled to have made the find. This was my favorite cache of my vacation. It gets a favorite point for sure and a rare visit from my Mjolinir travel bug. Thanks for an outstanding cache!!

AWESOME! Co-ftf with Hartsdale this morning on this great cache! I spent about 30 mins hunting the hillside before Hartsdale showed up and gave me a missing part of the puzzle, then it took another 30 min for us to make the find. This one enters my top 5 favorites! Cheers!
