We all have times of worry and doubt. 

A few years ago, during a particularly difficult time in my life, I discovered Mitchell's translation once again and Lao-tse's words helped me to find a path toward self-healing.

For those who feel lost in the darkness, I hope this first of the "Tao Series" helps you as much as reading it helped me. Release the guilt, nurture wisdom, and trust that all will be as it should. Here is Chapter 1 from my favorite text:

The tao that can be told

is not the eternal Tao.

The name that can be named

is not the eternal Name.

 

The unnamable is the eternally real.

Naming is the origin

of all particular things.

 

Free from desire, you realize the mystery.

Caught in desire, you see only the manifestations.

 

Yet mystery and manifestations

arise from the same source.

This source is call darkness.

 

Darkness within darkness.

The gateway to all understanding.

Out after dropping off kids at school and thought I’d grab this one on the way home. May 20th, drizzle and forecast for snow tonight- crazy! This was a quick find that I enjoyed - I’m always nervous approaching private property but this was quick and I assumed GC Cache owner permission. TFTC!
