Dia de los Muertos or The Day of the Dead may sound somber, creepy, or spooky, but it is really a happy celebration and time to remember friends and family members who have died.  It originated in Mexico and is celebrated on November 1-2.  Families gather to share fond memories and happy stories.  They create altars (called ofrendas) dedicated to the departed that usually include pictures, favorite foods and beverages, candles and marigolds.  There are also parts of Dia de los Muertos focused on the living – it is common to give friends small gifts such as candy sugar skulls.  I may not be able to give everyone candy, but I can give my geocaching friends a "little gift" of a smiley!

There are plenty of parking options, but you will have a short walk to the cache.

Out and about caching with great friends #1 Beefers and GanderGoose. Attended the Veterans Day 2022 with the 77's event and then scooped up a handful of other caches to the south and east. As we headed north on the way home, we had to stop and get two of your newer caches. Thanks for the fun and caches lasouthpaw.

FTF with Chihuahuas-3 at 8:07 a.m. I was awake but still in bed when the phone went off with a message from Mrs. C-3 that a cache had been published. Yes, let's go! I practically threw the Golden Fur Puppy out the door to go potty, then stuffed her in the car and off we went. We got to ground zero and Mrs. C-3 spotted the cute cache container right away! Good job! Nice walk on a nice morning to find a nice cache! Thank you, thank you for your "little gift".
