Here is another cache along the Historic Highline Canal about halfway between Mineral Ave. and County Line Road. It overlooks McClellan Reservoir with it's associated waterfowl and shorebirds. The water level has been restored and the reservoir is now full. It is part of the local water supply.
Access can be achieved from the north by parking at Writers Vista Park off Mineral Avenue or from the South off County Line Road at the Highline Canal Trail-head. The trail-head may be a further hike. Parking along County Line Road as it crosses the canal is not recommended. Alternate access may be at the flood control basin on the west side of Southpark lane or in the Calibre business a little further south (another basin on the west side of the road).

This was the 2nd ever Geocache my 3-year-old son found. He loves Halloween and was excited to take a single sticker off a Halloween sticker sheet. This was an impromptu venture on the way to the park so I didn't have anything to add but I will be back tomorrow to add something to the cache. Thanks! SL
