Having time off from work is always conducive to solving a few geocaching puzzles. I really like programming challenges and this puzzle, along with it's easier companion were fun to solve.

We were able to get pretty close to the final while driving through the snow in the dark. There were lots of potential hiding places but I'm happy the owner picked a spot that was on the reasonable end of the spectrum and that wasn't impacted by the snow.

One last cache for tonight...Where Art Thou Vowels? TFTC!!

I can't believe that I'm first to find - woohoo! More later.
Since I was actually able to solve the 3 CachingColorado puzzles that just published I decided to try to make a FTF on at least one of the 2 that were still unfound. I haven't ever driven so far on the off chance that I might get FTF, so this was a first in another way as well. And I solved the puzzle all by myself (did I mention that already?)! Anyway, a red letter day all the way around for this casual cacher. Had a nice chat with some horseback elk hunters near the GZ. I didn't have any dayglow orange with me, so I donned my retro-reflective traffic vest for wallowing around in the woods during hunting season. It turns out that I didn't really need it for as far into the woods as I got. Again, my GPSr was squirrely which I attributed to the tree cover. I looked for this cache for quite a while, then decided to just sit and cogitate on it. I had an aha! moment and finally found it. It was off about 15' from my GPSr reading. Must be the batteries. I was excited to find that the log was still blank, so I added my signature. Took nothing, left lots of footprints in the snow (no geotrail here, I'm afraid), signed log. Adding a favorite point for a hard for me puzzle that I solved, and a FTF in a nice location. Thanks CachingColorado for placing this cache so that we can play!

Yay - I got a "solved"! I probably won't get FTF, but it was fun working these puzzles out today.
