Native American legends Why the Bat Hangs upside down                Once, long ago,Coyote thought he would take a wife, but did not know whom to choose. " Why not take the wife of Hawk Chief?"  Bat said, for Hawk Chief was missing and had not been seen for many days.

But Hawk Chief returned and became angry with bat for giving such ill-considered advice. He picked Bat up and slung him with full force into a juniper bush.

Bat hung upside down into the bush, caught by his long, pointy-toed moccasins. He twisted and turned, but however much he struggled, he could not get free.

And from that time on, Bats hang upside down-even when they sleep.

The cache is not at the listed cords. You will find it at N 38 35.  tsebiŽiŽ gostsŽigi taŽaŽgi   W107 51.gostaŽn tsebiŽiŽ  diid

Long trek in today, even with some assistance, it is always a grueling uphill slog. Brought the muggle wife along to see the sights and assist in the search. Once I expanded GZ to other possibilities, the cache was soon in hand. Not as difficult a hide as I made it out to be last time. Left some blood and skin on the trail. Very glad to get this far out frowny off the list. Thanks for the puzzler.

Solved this puzzle sometime last year and I was on the trail today in close proximity. Checked a few likely areas but did not find the cache today.

Nice puzzle; odd that google translate does not have any Native American languages. Fun finding the information with a little more effort.
Glad to find this cache after a string of no-finds.
Thanks for the puzzle and the good hike! Favorite point, at least temporarily.

We were "running out of steam" at this point. The schnauzer was like a horse wanting to head back to the barn. And though the location for this cache was obvious, the container was not so easy to find. Well colored, the small object blended in well, despite being right in front of my face. Man, must have been the long journey to this spot that slowed the find. Oh well, enjoyed the challenging and interesting puzzle. I learned a bit about the Indian culture and language.. Thanks..

solved the puzzle, had to do some detective work. I enjoyed figuring out this puzzle. My father lives in Montrose. I guess it's time for a trip and hopefully still get FTF!! Happy Hunting from Florida.
