Today I hooked up with @WindAtMyBack and @2lablovers to load up our covered wagon and head east. My covered wagon is a newer model, the FJ Cruiser made by Toyota. From Aurora we headed toward Limon and then migrated south and further east. It was a productive day. We managed to avoid bad weather (only a little sprinkling). Along the way we saw at least 15 hawks, a burrowing owl den, a burrowing owl, many other types of birds and one snake. Unfortunately this bullsnake crossed the road at the same time as a vehicle and we only found him lying there, motionless. We also checked out Arroyo, a ghost town. We also saw a bunch of prairie dogs, and most importantly, lots of caches! We found 38 out here and had a great time. Before ending our day we had visited Hugo, Limon, Boyero, and Bennett. Thanks for the fun!
Stopped for a few pictures nearby. Clever placement, hint, and container. TFTC!

Fun day of caching with LostinDenver and WindAtMyBack. Headed east hitting Limon, Hugo and Aroya. Got a total of 38 caches. It was a little hotter than we expected out on the plains but nothing unbearable. Naturally we didn't get as many as we wanted (do we ever?) but that just means we will have to make another trip ! Great hint - led to a quick find. Nice to find an ammo can. Everything in great shape. Very interesting area.

Heading home to Phoenix, after roadtripping to Fort Worth for GeoWoodstock, then St. Louis to visit the family. Today we're driving from Hays, KS to suburban Denver to visit more family, but we're taking a geocacher's itinerary to grab a couple more Colorado counties (including Cheyenne) and not have to spend the entire day on I-70.

Interesting stop. Easy find, but a cautionary note to future seekers: There's a tiny but potentially painful cactus sitting right where we stood in order to reach the cache. Enjoyed checking out the area while we were being checked out by three whitetail deer (only two in the photo, though). Thanks for the cache.

Found this cache along the way down to Geowoodstock. Started the trip off with a 13-county loop around Colorado to try and get some of the counties that I am not normally near or might get to again. After that it was a nice trip of 5 States in one day as I travel further to Fort Worth, Texas. Tons of awesome caches preselected for counties, virtuals, earthcache or the age of the cache. Some got picked because they looked interesting as I drove through the area. So many good stops along the way took a 11-hour drive into a three-day drive. All the corners of the states along the way are great places to stop as well. I met other cachers along the way and ran into some headed the same direction. At a couple points I met up with a couple police officers and got to chat with them about geocaching. Another great reason to keep some printouts of what geocaching is in your car with you at all times. Thank you to all of the cache owners for keeping these active for all of us to find on our travels. I usually put jokes in all of my logs, but these logs are already going on long enough and honestly after 7 days of solo caching and the extreme cache hunting going on in Texas, I’m tired of caching! Now on to the hard part, documenting everything I saw and did while on this trip. So many photo and caches, it’s been an amazing trip. Again, thank you to all the CO’s and other cachers I met this past week!

What a cool place! Had to hike around the huge tree pile to find it. after the find I drove around some of the houses, what is the giant silver pyramid behind the one house? So cool! thanks for bringing me out here! It was a awesome stop on the way home.
