SOLO in COLO ROAD TRIP

I took a trip to the Southwest, all alone.

I had a few caches targeted and some counties I can reach while down in the corner.

One is Tarryall. I've lived here for almost 6 years, driven passed it within 10 miles several times. I figure it was time to make the find. My truck made easy work of that road and a nice short walk to GZ.

I finally made it back to this one after more years than I had planned. I arrived and searched for quite a while. I finally contacted the CO and he gave me a couple hints. I still couldn't find it and he came out to help me. I swear if my face wasn't literally inches from the container as I searched. I laughed at myself. The CO was gracious enough to let me know a new cache was posted and I got co-FTF on that one.

The third is the loneliest virtual. While it isn't that lonely, it goes the longest without folks visiting.

Of course, while I appreciate the other caches, the rest were just fillers to reach the 4500-cache milestone or random caches at places near where I stopped along with a few added to the trip to grab the last few counties in South and West Colorado

Thanks for the fun and the loneliest adventure!!

I was on a fun road trip to Silverton with two of my boys. It was a quick one-night visit. We were specifically after an FTF and to find the puzzle cache in Colorado that has gone the longest without being solved/found and to be STF on anther puzzle that was recently published. If the boys weren't with me, I probably would have called this a $300 failed attempt. Sadly we only found 1 of the 3. At least we had a great high-altitude adventure. I definitely recommend Mattie and Maud's cafe for breakfast!

We did grab a few scattered about town and toward the campground where we stayed.

This was the old puzzle cache... Unfortunately we searched for an hour before retreating to town to find a signal to ask for help. We came back later in the evening for a second attempt, armed with a good hint from the CO and still could not find it. Frown Maybe next year we'll give it another go...
