PLEASE DO NOT park on the side of the road!!! This is not a grab and go from your car. This is one of eight Special K hides on the Loveland bike path. Congratulations to estrek for being FTF!! This cache has been placed to celebrate the opening of another mile of the Loveland bike path!! Yeah!! We've been anxiously waiting for this to happen all summer! Finally......another mile!! Yippee! Okay, we're excited.

We can't believe they didn't provide a little area for people to park here and access the trail. So, for those of you in your vehicle, you will have to access the bike path from another trail entrance. Options are parking by the tire store on Hwy 287 and 57th (where the bike path crosses under the highway). Or from the other, and more scenic route, park in Seven Lakes Park and take the path from there. This would make your terrain rating more like a 2 1/2 but only due to the walking distance. But, it'll all be worth it because it's a beautiful walk along the path!! We've seen a few bald eagles in the trees along the lake. And, there are MANY other caches to find along the path while you're on your journey from either starting point! Hope you enjoy and please mind the parking signs.

The coordinates for the cache are about 22 feet off. I spent a good deal of time looking near the published coordinates. The hint is a good one and directs most in the right direction and they have been finding the cache. The coordinates that I found near the cache are; N 40 27.536, W105 02.646. By the way, the nature of the hide is a good one. The actual hide is really worthy of a favorite. Signed the log and returned the cache. Thanks LillieRose for the hide. And you need to come back out and geocache with all of us.

What a wonderful area! We were wishing we had the bikes, but we enjoyed a short walk and picked up a few more caches. Tftf.

Walked to coordinate location, but the highway was so busy didn’t find it. I thought it should be obvious but would be better if it was farther away from highway. Maybe next time.

No joy here for my last search on what turned out to be a 10-for-11, 5-mile geohike. After I rushed across the road ( only found the crosswalk after I started back) went around the obvious beacon twice, but I found nothing, even though I had a good idea what I should find; perhaps somebody thought it was real and disposed of it? TFTC anyway!
