This is a series of quick and easy caches to highlight a remote, yet beautiful area in Northeastern Colorado. There is parking convenient to the cache. Make sure you are prepared with plenty of food and fuel as services are few and far between on the grasslands!Pawnee National Grasslands is a 193,060 acre public land managed by Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. The Grasslands is known internationally for its bird-watching, especially birds of prey. Information about self-guided bird-watching tours is available elsewhere online. There are also spectacular wildflower displays throughout the Grasslands, the peak of the season is May and June. In addition, there are many interesting and unique geological formations, the most famous being Pawnee Buttes which can be accessed via a hiking trail.
