This is a series of quick and easy caches to highlight a remote, yet beautiful area in Northeastern Colorado. There is parking convenient to the cache. Make sure you are prepared with plenty of food and fuel as services are few and far between on the grasslands!
Pawnee National Grasslands is a 193,060 acre public land managed by Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. The Grasslands is known internationally for its bird-watching, especially birds of prey. Information about self-guided bird-watching tours is available elsewhere online. There are also spectacular wildflower displays throughout the Grasslands, the peak of the season is May and June. In addition, there are many interesting and unique geological formations, the most famous being Pawnee Buttes which can be accessed via a hiking trail.

We decided to head up to Wyoming for some caching today. Needed the icon for Wyoming anyway and this is a good chance to get it. We are visiting our Son and Grandsons in Lakewood CO. Cheyenne only about 1.5 hour drive away. Found lots of interesting caches today including some virtuals and also encountered a run of caches, to add to our numbers. All well at this cache and thanks for the new smiley. Hello from OKC.

Found it at 0725.
It only took me a minute or two to spot this one. I'm not sure that the container I found was the original hide, but people tend to replace caches on power trails like these, as needed.

Wasn't sure there was a pull-off based on the poor signal my cell phone was getting. The map is having issues out here so far from good cell service. But we are enjoying our unplugged day away from email and text messages while we cache along towards Ft Collins (the long way). Nice, warm day to be out here. tftc

Stopped to grab a few caches on my way home from the Colorado Star Geo art. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
