Native American Tribe Series.

Napochi Indians.

A tribe living near Coosa river, Alabama at war with the Coças (Creek) in 1560. They were probably a Muskhogean people, more nearly affiliated to the modern Choctaw. The Napochi were a sedentary hunter/farmer tribe. They were located along the Black Warrior River. Early conflicts forced at least some of the Napochi into joining the Chickasaw. The Napochi may, on the other hand, be the original tribe of the Acolapissa.  The name of tribe appears in account of Don Tristan de Luna in 1590. They do not appear to have survived contact with Europeans.

We headed out to the eastern plains today with our dog Fred. We all had a great time and found 40 caches. Sunny and low 80s. No snakes seen and very few muggles which made for very fun caching.

Another great December day.
Enjoyed the plains: the space, the quietness and the hunt for caches.
All CO's thanks for hiding.
