From the time when kids had to walk uphill both way to school. There was dozens of country schools across the county ensuring that no kid had to walk more than 3 miles
The Yuma County School project set out to locate and mark as many of these schools as possible Anyone wanting more information can stop into the Wray Museum
Hilltop 115 was formed in 1928 by splitting away from Columbine 38 located 4 miles west. At some point the school was located a 1/4 mile west at the top of the hill. Before that move was it called hill bottom? In 1951 several districts consolidated and the school was moved 5 miles south and used as the Fairview 6 School. It is still standing at that location
