A beautiful hike (snowshoe sometimes during winter) or bike ride in Deer Creek Canyon Park.
The cache is placed approximately equidistant on a loop trail so take your pick of directions when you get to the "Y". The trail is beautiful and different throughout the loop with various vegetation types growing in the different slopes, aspects etc. so be sure to complete the loop...why not if you are in the middle of it? The cache is away from the trail so you can get some nice "alone" time with a bit of a view...enjoy it! If you are into benchmarks, there is one close by that also has awesome views. Thanks again to 3TacosNoMeat for providing this cache from the SeedPod cache(GCHT3D).

Enjoyed grabbing this one and took a break while we were at it. We appreciated seeing a photo of a cute dog greeting us from the lid of container! The log and everything inside was in great shape, but just wanted to mention that the hinges to the container are broken. Clearly not a huge issue though. Thanks for the cache.

My #1969 with David coming back to Deer Creek Canyon to grab 8 caches today. We live at 300 feet in Pennsylvania, so the 8 mile hike with 1500 feet of elevation gain on our third day here was a stretch. David made the quick find on this old one. I'm wondering why the person finding this one yesterday not go on to find others nearby? You did the climbing hard part. TFTC

For Jeffco Open Space. I removed a mini first aid kit with a creme packet which has a 2008 expiration and may have an odor . The rear hinge hanging by one of the original three pins. Seems OK but needs maintenance before the contents is scattered.

Out for a morning trail run and took the opportunity to grab 6 Deer Creek hides. I have now earned a smiley face for every cache in the park :-). it was a beautiful morning and I got to watch an amazing sunrise. I set off from the car at 6:30am, took the back way up, ran the Red Mesa Loop and Golden Eagle trail and was back in the car by 9:00am. Not much snow and ice on the ground but the trail back to the car got a bit treacherous about half way down. This really is the best time of year to come. Not much snow, no snakes, cool weather (but not too cold) and not another person in sight :-)

Found this one quickly enough. Coords are spot on. SL. TNLN. Thanks for the great hide. Cache in fantastic condition. I took this picture feet away from the cache.

This morning was a beautiful morning to hike up and find your cache. I saw a pair of wild turkeys with some little turkeys following them. I will make your cache a favorite. I left a travel bug and took that cute little finger puppet! Thanks for the cache!
