The drive to this cache requires a high clearance vehicle, in just two places, and should not be attempted if the road is wet. It is a beautiful drive up a canyon with lots of geological features. You will be rewarded with outstanding vistas once on top. It is about a 20 minute drive from the highway. 4X4 is certainly not required. The most “challenging” part of the road is early. Be sure to take time just as you leave Highway 139 to take the foot trail to some nice rock art panels. Please see the photos to get a sense of what you can see from above.

Beginning Items Included:

Found it!

I wasn't sure after three years if it would still be there. It was and in good condition. The road wasn't bad and will take you to within 100 meters of the cache but I wouldn't try it for fun in wet weather. As it was, I parked in the canyon and hiked the last kilometer to the location. I was lucky and walked straight to it. Nice hike and wonderful view.

Thanks

This cache took a little driving to get to the site (about 10.5 miles round trip) and it was good that it had not rained much recently. The road has not been graded for quite some time, and we were glad we had four-wheel drive. But we were rewarded with great views from the cache site. The cache was an easy find and was in excellent condition. TFTC.

I agree with some others. This is a great spot. Unfortunately, today the smoke from the California, and other fires, detracted from the beauty of the views. TFTC I left a pocket multi-tool and took a hog. I like the other white meat. SL
