New series!!:

I am currently learning about the periodic table of elements in school, and it’s pretty interesting, so I thought I would make a series of 118 mysteries. Each one is a mystery about one specific element on the table.

There will be a puzzle involved in each one. All caches will be in this relative area.

Some puzzles will be harder than others, some will be easier to get to than others.

ATE (All The Elements)

ATE 1 - Hydrogen:

Hydrogen is the element on the periodic table that has the least amount of protons. It also has the least amount of neutrons.

It is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, flammable gas. It is the first element on the periodic table and it is in the nonmetal group.

It has 1 proton and 1 electron.

It is the most abundant element in the universe. About 71% of the universe is made of it!

It is commonly used in making heat and to generate electricity.

Hydrogen can blow up if it is not handled properly. The blimp/airship Hindenburg was the pride of Nazi Germany, and burst into flames when it touched its moorning mast in New Jersey killing 36 people on board. There was hydrogen in the top in the “air tank” and because it is flammable, it blew up viciously.

In the checker below, enter the classification group that hydrogen is in. No spaces or hyphens.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

Congrats to Kroozer for the FTF!

I think this find will complete the latest Signal's Maze for me. Woo hoo! I love this series. I am excited to do all the other ATE mysteries as they publish. I already did the Helium one last night and found that cache as well. When I was doing this Hydrogen mystery and reading your write-up, it reminded me of the time we traveled to Germany to do a self-guided bike tour around Lake Constance. It was raining on one of the days and we popped into the Zeppelin Museum to wait out the rain - yes, a museum entirely devoted to hydrogen blimps (or zeppelins as they call them in Germany). It was fascinating. But back to America and this cache. I think my favorite thing about GZ was the leaves on the trees at the nearby parking lot. I've attached a picture - look at those colors! Thanks, RubberDuck804. I will keep my eyes peeled for more ATEs....

Now I have a little help from a caching friend to publish half of them :).

I managed to find the cache this time. I could swear I looked there last time. It seemed so obvious this time!

I will be really impressed if you manage to publish another 117 mysteries relating to the elements. I hope you can do it, but that's a LOT of puzzles. Go for it!
