Two years since the last find! Amazing view! Cool to find the original container- so much history. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find!

"Fantastic" comes up short describing this spot. Thanks for bringing me here this morning Tahosa! Icezebra's replacement log in good shape. Wish I could give this one more than just one favorite!!

Camped nearby last night and this morning about 7 AM i took a stroll up the hill to where I remembered the cache being placed back in 2005. I was along when Tahosa and sons hid this one!
while the can is burned up and the contents destroyed, the memories are not.

We had a great day out caching and wheeling with crazy bigdog, kaiwarrior, Joe Friday, and OneKindWord. We enjoyed the wonderful Colorado Mountain weather with snow overnight and 64 degrees for an afternoon high. TFTC SL

I had a great day wheelin with OneKindWord, SWAG Dragon, Joe Friday and the Starnsuns. It had snowed the night before so we had a little extra excitement playing on the slippery trails. I hiked a mile up the road to the cache but had a ride back.

Spent a great day in the hills today Jeepin' with starnsun, kaiwarrior, and Joe Friday. The weather was awesome and the colors are still good, although we spent a large portion of the day in burn scar areas. This is an amazing spot! We missed the turnoff on our first trip by, but came through again after lunch and found it. TFTC

I was in this area three weeks ago and found The Old Ranch and The Burl. That hike from Pingree Park Rd was nearly 15 miles round trip and I didn't have the gumption to go the 3 additional miles out and back for this one. So today I made another long hike from Pingree Park Road into the Poverty Flats area to seek out this cache. Though today's hike was about 12.4 miles round trip, it wasn't too bad as it is almost all on the road/trail. I had previously checked out the area on Google Earth and it appeared the cache area had not been burned as I could see green trees in the photography. As I neared the hill where the cache was hidden I could see that the fire had burned some trees in the area but there were also many live trees on the ridge. I arrived at GZ and began my search. I looked behind a rock and what I saw made me say "oh no." I found the container with the lid half open next to the base of a burnt tree. I reached in and retrieved it. When I looked inside all I found was a pile of ashes! All of the contents of the cache were totally burned. The only things I found that I recognized were a small disc magnet and a small spring. I did not have a replacement log book with me but I did have a print-out of the cache page. So I wrote a note on the back and signed it. It's in a ziplock so it should stay dry. The next person to find this one may want to drop some swag. I left some of the ashes in the can as a little piece of the cache history.
This was the 53rd Tahosa cache I've logged. Only one left and I will then be able to visit Bobcat Ridge to sign the log for The Tahosa Caches Challenge. The last one I need to find is Kitty Lyon of Cipango so unless the USFS opens Old Flowers Road soon, it looks like I have an even longer hike ahead of me to log that one. I hope to complete it and the Challenge cache before the end of October.
Thanks Joe for another wonderful backcountry cache!

Please stay away from the cache till either myself or Denali41 give the Ok to enter the area. And I can imagine this will not happen until the summer of 2013.
